Welcome! 

Hey there, families and 4th graders!

I’m so excited to welcome you to our 4th grade RLA class! My name is Ms. Gonzales, and this will be my fourth-year teaching, but my very first year at Bright Academy. (Yes, I’m the new kid on the block, but don’t worry…I already asked where the best coffee is and I’ve got great co-teachers, so I’m ready!)

A little about me: I’m from a super close-knit family, so building a strong classroom community is really important to me. I believe a great class is built on mutual trust, kindness, and a healthy dose of laughter. When we support and respect each other, amazing things happen, not just in our reading and writing, but in how we grow as people.

Also, I got engaged this summer (!!!), so if I seem extra smiley, that’s probably why. Outside of school, you can find me playing pickleball, going on a nature walk, or reading a good mystery book.

In our classroom, you can expect lots of creativity, collaboration, and chances to find your voice, whether it’s in a story you write, a discussion you lead, or a moment when you help a classmate. I can’t wait to get to know each of you and kick off an awesome year together.

Here’s to a year full of learning, laughter, and maybe a few cheesy grammar jokes. Let’s do this! 😃
