Class Placement

Dear Parents-

Our student placement process for the upcoming school year is conducted prior to the end of school, during the months of May and June.  Placement in a positive learning environment takes a great deal of time and planning.  A committee of teachers and administrators examine all factors necessary for an informed placement, including academics, work habits, social attitudes, teacher style, student learning style, as well as individual and group personalities.  Each year presents many challenges in finding appropriate placements. In addition to the aforementioned factors, there are teacher grade level assignment changes, teachers on leave, and a variety of other dynamics to consider. After careful review, student placement is determined. As a result, parent requests are generally not honored district-wide.

Some parents wish to share specific information regarding their child with us.  You know your child best and if you feel there is information that we should be aware of, please share it with us.  A Student Information form has been developed and is available below. The form will be shared with your child's new teacher. As you can see, a great deal of thought goes into class placement. We look forward to providing your child with a very fulfilling and enriching educational experience.
