Save Grade Creek Road!

Currently forest road #2640 & #2642, Grade Creek Road is suffering from erosion due to a ditch cutting into the roadbed. This could be fixed if we can get enough volunteers! The stretch of ditch to be repaired by shovels, mattocks, etc. is approximately 1,500 feet. This road will need to be adopted so eyes can watch for upcoming erosion problems. This problem started out as simple ditch erosion and continued to get worse over time. This is a classic example of why the forest service is closing our roads. Do we want to pick up a shovel and save Grade Creek Road? This is the road that takes you to Tupso Pass, Tupso Lakes and Lake Louise. a work party will happen late July or early August when the snow melts.Thank You Volunteers! After 107 volunteer hours the encroaching big leaf willow is cut back and visibility restored! The ditches are again flowing and culverts are cleared! This road still needs a lot more work! We are so happy to say this road has now been adopted by Dan and his family!
