Six Flags Music Festival Information

Six Flags Information 2024

Participating students in Treble Choir, 7th Grade Select Choir, and 8th Grade Concert Choir will be performing in the Palace Theatre at Six Flags on Friday, May 10th.  Students should come to school that day with their choir uniform on.  There won’t be time to change clothes in between leaving the school and performing so all students need to already be in their choir polo, khakis, black belt, and black shoes.  Students will go to their first hour, then be dismissed to the multi-purpose room.  We will quickly take roll, and then get on the buses.  Students should have everything that they need to bring with them at this point (especially their season passes if they didn’t purchase a ticket).  Keep in mind that the buses will be returning to school to run the afternoon routes, so anything students wish to bring must be carried with them that day.  There are lockers that are available for rental but there will be no bus storage space.  Students should not bring things that could get stolen or ruined.  Students will be able to get back into school when we return to get their bookbags/chromebooks for their weekend homework.

Parents who wish to join us should meet us at Six Flags or follow behind the buses.  We will arrive at Six Flags at around 9:45 and check-in.  I will not receive our tickets until we check-in, so parents must be there to get their tickets from their student at this time.  I will hand out everyone’s tickets, then we will all go to the warm-up area.  After warming up, we will go to the Palace Theatre for the graded performance in order of Tiger Chorus, 7th Grade Select, and then Concert Choir.  Performances will be from 10:40-11:20 in the Palace Theatre.  Family members joining us are responsible for their own parking fees.

Prior to the performance, all students will check in with their chaperone to make sure that they know who to look for at our check-in times.  Parents who wish to check out their students are able to do so after our performances.  Students are responsible for finding and paying for lunch on their own in the park.  Also, the park is cashless, so students will need to bring a credit card or use cash to buy an electronic pay card from a kiosk.  If there are any issues, I will be staying in front of or inside the Palace Theatre all day except for when I get lunch or use the facilities.  All check-ins will be in front of the Palace Theatre.

Students are required to be in groups of at least 3 FMS students and are to check in with their chaperones in front of the Palace Theatre at 2:30 and 5:00.  Any student who misses a check-in time or is without their group will lose time in the Park – no exceptions!  At 5:00 the park closes and we will go from the Palace Theatre to the parking lot to meet the buses after they finish their evening runs.  Buses will pick us up around 5:30 and we’ll be back at FMS at around 6:30.  Students will call when we drive past Arnold in case we are running early or late.

Hurricane Harbor is not open yet so students do not need to bring swimsuits.  Please keep in mind that although we are at Six Flags, we are also at a school event, so all school rules apply to behavior and clothing.  Students who break those rules will be disciplined accordingly at school.  Please check the weather to make sure that you are prepared for the day in the park.  You may need a hat, sunscreen, a jacket, a parka – anything!  Welcome to Missouri weather in the Spring!  All bags will be checked at the entrance of the park and no food or drink is allowed in the park so please bring enough money for food.

If you do wish to pick up your child or check them out early and drive them home yourself I will need an e-mail by Wednesday, May 8th.  This helps keep track of students for safety and for transportation.  If you have any questions please contact me at zustiakcaleb@festusedu.com
