My History

My name is Phil Brooks and I lived with my wife Ginny in a Southern New Hampshire colonial farmhouse that we have been restoring for almost 50 years. We established a Timber Frame/Post and Beam business in the 60's which we sold to an employee about 5 years ago. http://www.brookspostandbeam.com

I love to design machinery and over the years built and computerize a robotic machine for cutting the joinery on the pre-cut buildings we produce. I have a machine shop where I spend a lot of time. I also have a lift equipped auto shop where I play in the winter months or when not gardening or fly fishing in summer.

The first car I owned was a '46 Ford convertible which I purchased at age 14 for $25. I soon bored of driving it around the fields listening to the connecting rods rapping, and spent the next 2 years disassembling and reassembling this convertible into a pick-up with a rebuilt engine.

My first British car was a Triumph TR2 that I bought in the early 60's. I was hooked, owning several TR2's, 3's and 4's which I rallied and raced in my college days.Eventually I traded my last TR for a farm tractor. Somewhat appropriate since the block in my Triumph was made by Massy Ferguson Tractor Co. I own 2 TR4's at present, one is my driver and this one is my project car
