Routines Based Interview

The RBI is an interview which allows families to communicate information about their child’s development and their own concerns while describing their family’s daily routines and activities. The information gathered during the interview is used to develop IFSP/IEP outcomes and plan intervention strategies with families. This is important because young children learn best within familiar activities; interacting with familiar people and familiar objects. Early intervention is about supporting the adults present in everyday activities to maximize child learning and development.
