Business and Industry partners are a crucial part of Work-based Learning. These partners provide opportunities to learn more about industry through factory tours, job shadowing, externships, mock interviews, internships, and apprenticeships.

TRPN Update
TRPN is a Tri-Agency Initiative bringing K-12 Education, Workforce, and Higher Ed together to better support students in their journey through high school and transitioning into workforce and post-secondary education.
Pathways prepare all students to succeed after high school and spur regional economic development by developing a strong talent pipeline aligned with regional industry needs. By seamlessly linking K–12 education, postsecondary education, and careers in high-wage, in-demand industries, pathways ensure that all students are ready for success after high school.

Throughout the year, the Career and Education team holds special events and initiatives across the West Central Texas region for students, parents, teachers, employers, and community partners to engage in the world of work. Being able to see work in action, hear employers discuss specific careers, and engage with partners are important steps to developing a well-rounded workforce. Region 14 CTE partners with the Workforce Board to support the Work-based Learning opportunites for Region 14 school districts.
WORK-BASED LEARNING UPDATES
Teachers Assigned to Career Preparation or Practicum Courses:
Work-Based Learning (now on TEALearn and does have certificate instructions)
Teachers assigned to teach Career Preparation and Practicum courses must complete the Texas Education Agency approved training as outlined in §231.271. Career Development, Grades 9-12. subsection (e):
(e)The school district is responsible for ensuring that each teacher assigned to Career Preparation I, Career Preparation II, or Extended Career Preparation, Grades 9-12, has completed appropriate training in state and federal requirements regarding work-based learning and safety.
