Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.

• • Visited the Soapy Joe's at Imperial Beach for an in-field test of the nozzles

  • tested different combinations of angled nozzles and took videos

  • Talked with Mr. John about the possible problems and areas for improvement

  • Purposed possible improvements: top blower and more angled trunks

  • Talked with Mr. John about the material of the nozzle

• • 3D printed more nozzles for the test

  • learned the limitation of the 1 generation of design and modified the design

  • learned that the combination of angled nozzles could do a better job

• • The current solution is working

  • The pivoting speed is quite fast, and it's either full pivot or no pivot, no intermediate positions

  • The tunnel at the Imperial Beach site is quite short, so people tend to leave before the blower pivoted. The position of the blower could be a problem

• • Run the test with both blowers on and with no special nozzle to control variables

• Three important part:

  • Prevent rotation: Went into the cars, vibration ——attached to the blower?

  • Material selection: support its weight, prevent from rotating,

  • Length

• Manufacture, material selection?

  • Get a quote from the company

  • Contact the company for sample rubber

  • 3D print Mould

  • Measure the stiffness

    • Amazon durometer gage to do durometer test

    • CAD and FEA test

    • Cantilever test

• The final part should be one piece.
