Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.

• • Visited the Soapy Joe's at Imperial Beach and checked the Mammoth Drying system

  • Used Anemometer to measure the Flow direction and Speed

  • Used FlowViz Paint to visualize the drying effect of the Mammoth Drying system

  • Talked with Mr. John about the possible solution to improve the drying effect

  • Purposed two possible solutions: Rotational Air Dryer and Adjustable Axial

• • Mr. John commented in person that the Mammoth Air Dryer did not work well as expected

  • The possible solution for this problem was to redesign the blowing order of the Mammoth air dryer and to change the direction of the nozzle of the dryer

• • Professor Delson talked in person that the Adjustable Axial might not work properly because of the heavy weight of the air dryer

  • The possible solution for this problem was to only move the nozzle rather than to move the air dryer

  • Professor Delson also mentioned that the presentation should include more pictures to visualize the purposed solution
