Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Design
Joint
Modified design of transferable joint to interface with Chuy's manufactured cuffs
Battery housing
Created CAD of battery housing
3-D printing various lightweight designs
Fabrication
PCB
First version of PCB manufactured and expected to arrive this week
Test bed
Received torso model from Chuy
Harness
Will work with Chuy on Friday 5/10 to fabricate brace cuffs and harness
Tests
Sensors
Measured delay from activation of pressure sensor to activation of servo
Avg. delay 200 ms from application of pressure to motor start
Avg. delay 500 ms from release of pressure to motor stop
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Fabricated model of Max's torso
Re-designed brace joint and confirmed design with Chuy
Initiated process of fabrication of brace with Chuy for this upcoming Friday
Ordered first PCB for testing, arriving Friday
Re-did wiring on original prototype with breadboard to give 100% rate of success for servo response to Arduino inputs
Fabricated prototype sleeve for Max to use - includes two flex sensors and one pressure sensor
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Complete fabrication of harness for left arm only (Jose, Ethan, Marcos)
Complete fabrication of brace cuffs for left arm only (Jose, Ethan, Marcos)
Fabricate prototype # 2 - will include fabricated harness, fabricated brace cuffs and test sensor sleeve complete with 3 sensors (Entire team)
Test PCB (Jose, Cory)
Design new PCB to include circuitry for up to two actuators in the event that we have enough time to fabricate components for the second arm

Same as last week 4/30
Brace is comfy
Glad this is the case. This means design with actuation is feasible and we will continue down this path.
Re-do joint connection
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
From meeting 5/2/19
Consider switching to PCB
We ordered one PCB to play with and will likely order at least one more that will include connections for two actuators and another set of sensors
Think of a way to arrange wiring such that it is compact
Will work on that once we get PCB
Think about wire management
Considering braided wire sleeving to siphon wires along arm
