Risks and Areas of Concern
Strain gauges breaking
Do the dolphin decision recording paddles need to solicit a binary or variable response?
Will be brought up during 1/11/18 sponsor meeting
Angle of rig to cater to dolphin anatomy (outgoing and incoming sounds)
Welding vs other fabrication methods (80/20?)
Resources or Information Required but not Available
Need to find optimum angle for the rig to disrupt incoming sounds as little as possible
Schedule
Finish individual components analyses
Update Gantt chart.
Budget (list amount spent and amount remaining)
Full budget remaining ($1000)
Progress on Report and Webpage
Preliminary stages for both
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Brought Julia up to speed on project
Risk reduction
Preliminary prototype shed light on the fragile nature of cheap strain gages, but 3D printed part proved durable.
Site visit
Went to the Navy’s Point Loma submarine base where the dolphin pens are. Received a first hand look of the current setup, and saw it being used.
Sponsor meeting 2pm, 1/11/2018.
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Individual component analysis
One step closer to optimal components, one step closer to optimal overall design.
