Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
CAD Model of heart block was generated.
Thermal simulation of heater block was conducted and the simulation was verified with parts borrowed from a team members employer. The tests were successful and the desired temperature was maintained.
Accomplishments from Previous Week

Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Sponsor seemed to prefer an agitation system that did not involve physical contact between system and tissue or a magnetic stirrer. In order to address these comments, we have begun to look into ultrasonic methods. Additionally, construction of a magnetic stirrer has begun.
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Instructor recommended using PTFE Teflon as the material for our heater block due to its beneficial thermal characteristics. We have looked into this material and intend to use this for Version 2 of our heater block.
Comments from Other Students in the Class (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)

Risks and Areas of Concern
For our magnetic stirrer we need to make sure we do not generate excessive shear forces which can effectively damage our sample(s).
Resources or Information Required but not Available
For ultrasonic method we need to know the natural frequencies of the tissues we will be dealing with. This information does not seem to be readily available. We have found some information but are not too confident about it so we may be have to conduct tests to verify that information.
For our magnetic stirrer mechanism, we need to know the maximum shear force different tissues can handle before viability of cells is reduced significantly.
Schedule
Upcoming goals will be described below.
Update Gantt chart. (SOMEONE????)
Determine shear forces for different tissue samples.
Design housing for prototype.
Assemble prototype and conduct tests to find a viability ratio.
Budget (list amount spent and amount remaining)
No money has been spent yet thank to the generosity of a team members employer, INSERT NAME HERE.
Progress on Report and Webpage
Under construction.
