ABC: Working on initial prototype
Prototyping Failsafe mechanism
Laser Triangulation: can identify and locate laser, need to tweak parameters
Relative Positioning: still working through tutorials
Accomplishments from Previous Week
ABC:
CAD work: polycarbonate box with linear actuator
Linear actuator and polycarbonate was purchased.
First draft of pistons were made.
Tube was too inconsistent, has since been bored to new diameter. New pistons are needed.
Housing:
CAD work: Prototype layout for testing and designing motor casings.
Constructed acrylic housing prototype:
iteration 1 - poor solvent wet out and severe cracking due to bonding technique.
iteration 2 - good solvent wet out
Failsafe Mechanism
Designed and created several buoy designs.
Tested designs in ocean, checking for visibility, stability, and geometric profile (for sleekness).
CAD work to integrate several of the best designs with the rest of the sub.
Electrical Schematic
2D schematic drawn up (WIP)
Laser Triangulation
Successfully identify pixel coordinates of laser dot
Test code displays image with circle around laser on screen
Relative Positioning
Daniel's time was devoted to laser triangulation

Figure out pulsed-laser circuitry
Get prototype laser triangulation setup built, programmed and calibrated (Daniel)
