156B Week 10
Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Fabrication of wind tunnel complete, except for Promalite. We are trouble shooting the software, but circuits are all working.
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Wind tunnel duct complete
Mounting for duct and insulation complete
Teflon PTFE machined
Copper machined
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Assemble all components (Tian)
Protoboard (Anthony)
Combine all LabVIEW parts for different sensors, tune temp controller PID (Liz)
Research airflow speed calibration techniques (Austin)
Run through experiment (Team)
Finalize poster (Team)
Edit report and post draft (Team)
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments
Seshadri met with the team to see the fabricated wind tunnel and was satisfied with the design
Seshadri emphasized the need for uniform airflow which will be accomplished with honeycomb and mesh screens
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments
5 RTD channels is sufficient for protoboard
Final calibration should use 0.01% resistor
Jerry says to use a separate circuit for overtemperature setup and to use a normally closed thermal switch
Jerry says to attach an E-prong to circuit for memory collection
We will likely purchase the expensive epoxy because thermally conductive paste melts since it is grease/liquid - epoxy is better because it doesn’t migrate
Risks and Areas of Concern
Resources or Information Required but not Available
Schedule
