156B Week 2
Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Prototype designs entering the final phase of drafting
Induction cooktop ordered and currently undergoing analysis
Different tests scheduled to compare conventional electrical heating vs. induction heating
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Conducted in-depth analysis on viable components
Drafted 1st round of designs for components
Purchased IR sensor along with induction cooktop
Heavily researched induction process and viability over standard electrical heating unit
Determined that stainless steel carafe is the superior option if using induction cooktop (rather than using adapters)
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
By this Thursday:
Lock down designs for the following:
Solid dispensing mechanism (Michael and Pablo)
Liquid dispensing mechanism (Edwin and Howard)
By next Monday:
Finalize design for internal magnetic stirrer
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Seriously consider cleaning through the entirety of the prototype design phase
Consider having SLA ready for next week of solid dispenser
Design is not yet finalized - objective changed to finalization of design by Thursday
When making prototype, state manufacturing method that would be used
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Update presentation to provide more substantial background and greater clarification
Bring as many parts as possible to the next meeting
