Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Analysis of the sliding mass has been corrected for minor errors
Have purchased some parts for the tower
Have begun fabrication of a prototype for the tower and sliding mass
Have not begun testing
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Completed individual component analysis
Picked parts for the tower and sliding mass
Purchased parts for the tower and sliding mass
Set a budget cap on the first robot
Narrowed the latch design down to a few options
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Get a working prototype of the spring loaded mass and tower
Obtain springs by going to a nearby Grainger
Individual component analysis
Pick the final design for the remaining components
Purchase materials for the remaining components
Create latching mechanism and test it
Determine state standards for high school physics and how they will be met
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
1/9/13 - Meeting with Dr. De Callafon (in person)
Information and guidance on spring elongation position pertaining to the inelastic collision of masses.
Provided the team with masses for testing and prototyping.
Next meeting will be a demonstration of the "bunny hop" for sponsor evaluation.
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
1/9/13 - Meeting with Dr. Delson (in person)
Recommended fabrication of working prototype to demonstrate during the next instructor meeting on 1/16/13.
The working prototype should perform the "bunny hop".
Current actions involve creating the prototype with purchased items and fabrication in the Machine Shop.
Next meeting will be a demonstration of the "bunny hop" for instructor evaluation.
