In light of the school closures, we have updated the application process and timeline. If you have any questions, at any point, please contact Ms. Petersen: apetersen@eduhsd.k12.ca.us

Timeline:

  • March 5th - Applications Available in E6 or online here (make a copy of the Google doc to edit it)
  • ASAP - If you are planning to apply, fill out THIS INTEREST FORM
    • The purpose is to acquire your contact info so we know how to get in touch with you and keep track of incoming documents, such as your teacher evaluations
  • April 16th - Applications DUE by 1:00pm. Late applications will not be considered.
    • Submit application materials to Ms. Petersen using one of the following three methods:
      1. Email: Scan or take a picture of all necessary pages and send to apetersen@eduhsd.k12.ca.us
      2. Upload documents to Google Drive and share with Ms. Petersen apetersen@eduhsd.k12.ca.us
      3. Drop off a paper copy to PHS between the hours of 11:00am - 1:00pm, April 13-16 at the lunch pick-up in the bus circle
    • Make sure you include ALL requirements:
      • Grade report (1st semester)
      • Attendance report
      • 2 Teacher evaluations
        • *If you don’t have your teacher evaluations completed, email your teacher and ask them to fill-out a recommendation online. Copy/paste this link into the email: https://tinyurl.com/pondoteacher
      • Written application (p.12)
      • Signature page (p. 13)
        • *if you don't have your counselor or AP signature, turn it in without the signatures, and Ms. Petersen will contact them

ELECTED positions ONLY (if you are running for office, these additional steps apply):

  • April 17th - Mandatory election meeting on Zoom at 1:00 pm
      • Meeting link will be emailed out to students who have turned in completed applications for running for office and who are cleared and approved to run
      • This meeting will cover important details regarding campaigning and speeches
      • You must turn-in the written script for your speech for approval by 11:59pm. You can email it to apetersen@eduhsd.k12.ca.us
  • April 20th - Speech filming
      • Once your written draft has been cleared, record yourself reading your speech. A phone recording is fine, but make sure you record horizontally. No other individuals should appear in your videotaped speech, and your entire recording should be no more than 2 minutes.
      • Upload the video to google drive and share it with apetersen@eduhsd.k12.ca.us and pondoasb@gmail.com
  • April 20 - 24 - Campaigning on social media (for approved candidates)
      • Campaigning begins at 8:00 am on April 20th. Do NOT post before this time.
      • Must tag @pondoasb in all posts.
      • Must be appropriate and no negativity towards other candidates.
      • You will be held responsible for friends campaigning on your behalf and anything that's posted in your private story. Be respectful and responsible - this is the first reflection of you as a leader at PHS
  • April 24th - Elections! Voting on 5-Star from 8am - 6pm.
  • April 24th - Election results announced at 8pm via Instagram @pondoasb, Parent Square, and on the website: tinyurl.com/pondoasb.

APPOINTED positions:

  • April 27 - May 1- Interviews via Zoom
    • You will be sent a link to sign-up for your interview time after your completed application is received.
