In music class, we use the school-wide behavioral expectations.
We...
Take care of ourselves
Take care of others
Take care of things
A class can earn two points each time they come to music. When the majority of students in a class are showing cheetah pride, the class earns both points. The points are recorded on our "Reward Board" (keyboard) each week to keep track of progress. When a class does something exceptional, Mrs. Maldonado might give a bonus point!
Depending on the number of points earned, classes earn music game time. The first time they earn 10 minutes, second time 20, and third time, an entire music class of music game time!
Students are assigned jobs in the music room on a weekly basis. Below are the jobs and their descriptions.
Class Monitors - decide how many points class should earn based on overall class behavior
Helpers - Pass out/clean up materials, do various helper tasks depending on the week, use a checklist to make sure the room is tidy before they leave
Compliment Squad - select one or two classmates that deserve a compliment! (With teacher guidance)
