Welcome to April!!!
1) Go onto Google Classroom and watch the short video: Finding a sale price.
To find the sale price, you can use the formula: a = p x w (like in the video) OR you can just find 25% of 35 = 0.25 x 35 = 8.75 and then subtract the 8.75 from the 35 to find the sale price (like we did with Bed Bath and Beyond).
2) Take a look at the Slugger baseball bat on sale for $499.95 (picture on Google Classroom). It is 30% Off. What is the sale price??
3) Try "On Your Own" # 1 at the bottom of page 248
4) We will go over all of this on MEET. If you have trouble with #1 on page 248, we will do it together.

Complete 1-17 odd only. For 11 and 13, you have to use is/of = %/100. For 15, you have to use the equation: a = p x w and solve. You have been doing an awesome job on this math! Keep up the good work.

Use the percent equation: a = p x w
Example: 0.5% of what number is 12?
12 = 0.005 x W Put variable on the left: 0.005w = 12 and solve.
w = 2400 **Remember for the percent equation, the percent needs to be changed to a decimal. Look at your notes that we completed over the last couple of days.

2) Classwork for today is on Google Classroom. Complete problems 5-10 all on a separate piece of paper.
3) If you are up at 9:15, go onto Google Meet. It has a video camera on the app on your Chromebook. I will try to put a link onto Google Classroom if you can't find it. If you find Google Meet, when it asks for a code, type in Jared and then click Join. You should see my face! It should work. If you have any problems, have your mom call me and we can try to work it out together. If you need a later time, have mom call me.
I will be available to help you with any problems or concerns over the next two weeks.

1) I posted on Google Classroom the answers to yesterday's classwork page 230 11-20. Check your answers. If you don't understand why you got something wrong, contact me immediately.
2) On Google Classroom, I posted 6.3 Workbook. Please complete problems 1-7. Don't be tricked by number 7 just because it is a word problem. You still can use:
is/of = %/100.
3) Choice: if you want to save the 6.3 workbook for tomorrow, you can work on the Bed Bath and Beyond project. If you are having trouble, then let me know and I can walk you through it. If you choose to work on Bed Beth and Beyond, just shoot me an email or text.

Jared: You learned a new lesson on Friday. Lesson 6.3 The Percent Proportion. If you can't find your notes, check out pages 228-229 in your Red Big Ideas Book. The notes on these pages are very similar to your notes. I will be putting a picture of an example of these types of problems on my 7th Math Google Classroom. Check it out!

**The Bed Bath and Beyond Project can be worked on daily. Remember, you may use a calculator to check your answers only. You must show all work on the graph paper. You may want to work on it for 10 minutes a day or take a full day to work on it. Let me know how it is going. If needed, have your mom call me and I can re-explain the steps.
**At any time, you can log onto Big Ideas and go to "assignments". I can track which assignments you have completed and see how you did. All assignments are reviews of previous chapters.
