Message from Ms. Marissa

This year promises to be an excellent year at Overbrook Early Learning Center

On behalf of the faculty and staff, I would like to welcome you to the Overbrook Early Learning Center community! Overbrook Early Learning Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

Overbrook Early Learning Center is committed to providing high-quality childcare that enhances the overall development of the child and supports the family unit. Our goal is to work in partnership with each family to focus on a child’s individual needs. Children are placed in a safe, enriched, child-centered environment that provides them the opportunity to explore, create, and grow under the supervision of a highly-qualified, nurturing staff.

When children feel good about themselves, they are free to learn and grow. Our programming is designed to focus on each child and encourages exploration and positive self-esteem through appropriate choices. A variety of learning centers promote individual growth in all areas of development with an emphasis on the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive. Activities allow children to participate on their own level and enjoy a sense of accomplishment for what they have achieved. Children are encouraged to make choices throughout the day. We’ve created spaces designed for running and jumping, dancing, cuddling with a soft pillow or dreaming with a picture book. Children have options based on their moods and needs of the day. Overbrook Early Learning Center staff is trained in child development and shares the vision of creating an environment rich in experiences; rich in play, rich in teaching, and rich in the diversity of people. Our program strives to make each child feel significant and special. We want our staff to feel significant, too. We provide ongoing educational opportunities in the field of child development and encourage them to model lifelong learning and a zest for knowledge. We encourage staff, children, and parents to share their special talents with all of us.

Parental involvement is key to a child’s development. At Overbrook Early Learning Center, we offer parents a variety of ways to participate in our program without putting additional stress on busy schedules. Communication is the key to any successful relationship; through daily contact with staff, newsletters, parenting programs, and family events, parents are made to feel a welcome and valued part of our program. It is our belief that we are providing a program that will reduce your stress and worry about the care and nurturing of your child. We are supporting you in your role as a parent, while understanding the other roles you must take on during the course of your day. We hope that we will work together for the best interests of the family.
