The Local Governance Partnership (LGP) brings together parents, educators, providers, and community leaders to create strong, thriving early childhood systems in our town. Guided by the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood’s vision, the LGP works collaboratively to identify community needs, share resources, and shape solutions that help every child succeed.
At the heart of our work is the Community Table a welcoming group of stakeholders who meet six times a year to:
Engage parents and amplify family voices
Offer training and technical assistance to local early childhood providers
Conduct data-driven needs assessments to guide community planning
Build partnerships that strengthen opportunities for children and families
Marissa Velazquez, Supervisor of Overbrook Early Learning Center, serves as the LGP Liaison, ensuring strong connections between families, educators, and community partners. Her leadership helps guide the group’s work, keeps communication flowing, and ensures that every voice is heard.
Together, we’re building a community where every child is healthy, safe, learning, and ready to succeed in school and life. Whether you’re a parent, provider, or community advocate, your voice matters and there’s a seat for you at the table.
