About the ensemble:
The Trojan Guard marching band is one of the Chesterton community's oldest and most recognized performance ensembles. The Trojan Guard earned a Bands of America Grand National Championship in 1981, and more recently has won the ISSMA Scholastic Class A State championship in 2013 and 2015.
Today, the Trojan Guard involves almost 100 students from the CHS Band program, including wind players, percussionists, and color guard members. The band regularly performs at CHS football games, parades in northwest Indiana and Chicago, IL, and competes across Indiana in the ISSMA Scholastic and Open class circuits.
Students must enroll in a concert band or instrumental ensemble to participate in Trojan Guard.
The Trojan Guard is under the direction of Jon Flodder (jflodder@duneland.k12.in.us), Matthew Christensen (mchristensen@duneland.k12.in.us), and Vince Arizzi (varizzi@duneland.k12.in.us), with additional instruction from TBA (color guard), Lana Wordel (percussion), Colin Campbell (percussion), and Michael DePasquale (audio tech).
