Welcome!

Hello Shark Families!

As we wrap up our summer fun challenge I invite you all to input your final mile count here! I hope that you all were able to stay activite and get some fresh air! :)

Hello Shark Families!

I wanted to invite you to join us in a summer fun run/walk challenge against our DES staff. For the next four weeks (starting Monday June 1st through Friday June 26) let's see if you can run/walk more miles than your teachers. At the end of each day total up either the steps and convert them into miles (2,500 steps = 1 mile) or the miles you did. All of the steps you take throughout the day count, whether that's doing work in the garden or going for a run. Feel free to use this simple spreadsheet to help keep track of how many miles you have done for each day and for each week. This sheet is just for your use, so feel free to print it out to help you keep track! At the end of the four weeks you will input that FINAL count into a google form that I have created. I will put this form on my teacher site as we get closer to the end date! OF course since it's a challenge I am working on a prize for whoever does win the competition.

Categories include:

1. Overall miles - Who had more? students or teachers?

2. The most miles for students

3. The most miles for staff

Hello Sharks and Shark families!!!

I miss seeing every one of you! I hope you are staying healthy and safe during this time. Although we are in a stay-at-home/shelter in place that doesn't mean we have to stop being active! It is important to get at least 60 minutes of activity a day! This doesn't just have to be running or crunching those Abs. It can be going for a walk, a hike, or a bike ride.

I will be updating my website with weekly topics/units as if we were in PE class. You will be able to find these topics under At Home PE --> 1-3 or 4-5 --> Scope and Sequence. In addition to the main topics (which again we would be doing in class) I will add some bonus games, ideas, and challenges so that we all can stay active and have fun. I know many of us do not have all of the necessary equipment to do all of these activities so in each unit I will be talking about how we can try and modify or make some homemade equipment with materials lying around the house. Gopher Sports has put together a great Equipment replacement list which you can find here. Please feel free to do as much or as little (hopefully one activity each week) as you would like.

Again Thank you so much for giving eachother grace during this trying time while we all figure out how to teach remotely! We are all in this together!
