Google Slides
Review Project - 4th grade
Introduction:
The project is designed for you to write about something that you did over this summer and give details about it. This way the reader can really understand what happened. At the same time, you will be reviewing some of the key skills within Google Slides that you will need to use to complete this project.
Project Expectations:
Do each task and within each task are videos on specific Google Slides skills. You have the option to watch any video that you need to complete the task.
For the Peer editing task, you need to find out from the teacher who will be assigned to you.
When you are totally done with the project, you need to click "Submit" within the classroom assignment.Â
For the Peer Feedback task, you need to choose a student that you would like to look at their final Google Slide file and fill out the Google Form to give your peer some feedback.Â

TO DO before each time you work on this project:
You need to go to your Teacher's Google Classroom and in the classwork tab open the "My Summer Highlight Writing_Google Slides" assignment.
 Click on file "My Summer Highlight" Google Slides under "Your Work"
Click back on the tab for your teacher Google Classroom, click on the blue icon file that says mrbadger.org next to it.
Now you will be able to toggle back and forth from the project tasks page to the Google Slides file to do this project.
AGAIN IN EACH TASK THERE ARE VIDEOS ON THE CERTAIN GOOGLE Slides SKILLS YOU WILL NEED TO BE ABLE TO DO.
You have the option to watch any video within a task to help you remember how to do the Google Slides Skills for that task.
Task #1
Within the "My Summer Highlight" Google Slides file, you need to add a title in the large text box. The title needs to explain how you plan to talk about one thing you did or saw this summer. Example title "One Thing I did This Summer"
In the smaller text box, you need to type By then your first name and just the first letter of your last name.Â
For your title and name, You can change the Font, Color, Size, and Alignment of text (meaning left, right, or centered)
Change the background of the slide. (Note: If your text is light the background should be dark. If the text is dark, you need to use a light background.

Task #2
Add a New Slide
In the Top Text box (header), you need to type "My Summer Highlight"

Task #3 - New In Google Slides
Everyone needs to watch the below video about a new feature in Google slides dealing with text on a slide
Task #4Â
Click in the bottom box text box and change the font to Comic Sans and size to 14
Now you need to write at least one paragraph, which has at least 5 complete sentences in it, about something you did or saw during the summer. You need to start each paragraph off with an indent. Within your sentences you need to include the following:
Sentences start off with a capital letter
Sentences end with an end mark and after each endmark you put a space before starting next sentence.

Task #5 - Peer Editing and Collaboration
 At this time, you need to have another student be a peer editor on your document. You need to ask your teacher who will be your peer editor.
Your peer editor needs to read your document and check for the following
sentences start off with a capital
Sentences end with an endmark and a space after each endmark
Sentences make sense (If not, you and your peer editor need to collaborate to help fix any sentence.)

Insert a Copyright free image that goes along with your writing. You will need to change the size to fit on the slide. You can also rotate it if you want.
Make your text box a little smaller then move the image to the right of the text box and make image larger.

Task #7
Add a new slide
Change the Side Layout to "Title Only"
In the top Text Box, you need to type "Images Of My Summer". You can change the text to any Font or Color if you want
You need to insert 2-3 copyright free images that show things you did or saw in the summer.
You need to insert a text box and but it next to or under each image and type a label that explains what the image is.
Add a bullet for each of the image text box labels.
NOTE: Make this slide your own. Have fun with it. You can do things like rotate the images and add color to any text.

Task #8
Add an arrow from your title "Images of my summer" to each image.
You need to crop one image so part of it isn't showing.

Task #9
Add Slide Transitions
Click on "Slideshow" to look at your final presentation (You need to press the "ESC" key to get out of the presentation mode)

Task #10
Add animation to a text box (label) for one of your images. You are to make this animation for the text box (label) appear "After Previous"Â
Add another animation to the Image of the text box (labell) you just added animation to. But for this animation for the image, you need to choose "On Click"
Click on "Slideshow" to look at your final presentation and check out the new animation you just created. (You need to press the "ESC" key to get out of the presentation mode)

Task #11 - Submit final Work
You need to submit your file within the Google Classroom assignment.

You are to read another student's final work.
