Dual Meets
This is where we run against one other team from the Tri-Valley League Small Division. We start off the season with a unique race this year- a quad meet- against Medfield, Holliston and Hopkinton at McCarthy Park in Medfield. Our first home meet will be on September 17th against Medfield. This one begins at 4:30 in the upper fields. Take the path behind the track and walk all the way back and across the soccer fields. Our "camp" will be on the far edge of the soccer fields.
This year the first race will be for those on the boys' team. It should start on time if the other team arrives on time. The second race is for those on the girls' team. This race should start about 45 minutes after the start of the first race.
Our home course is a challenging one. It is 2.75 miles long and starts off with a loop through the hay fields, up the hill and through a small stretch of woods and then heads across the soccer fields and down the hill into the woods. By the time the runners enter the woods they'll have run about 6/10 of a mile. They then do about 1.5 miles in the woods before emerging from the woods and continuing the excitement all the way back to where they started.
There's nothing like experiencing this course in person, but our map will give you a good idea of the course. You will find that there are some excellent places to watch the race action from. The map can be found on the Maps section of our site.
If you want to know a bit about how dual meets are scored, this post on our site is for you. As you'll see there, a team is not guaranteed a win just because they have a couple of outstanding runners.
Invitationals
These meets are a lot of fun because you get to compete against many athletes from different towns (and sometimes different states). Below you can see race dates, times and deadlines for notifying us of unavoidable conflicts.
