¡Hola! I came to DeWitt High School in 1997 to work with a very dedicated staff and a dynamic student body; I truly believe that this is where I am supposed to be and am very proud to be a DeWitt Panther.
I have been intrigued with Spanish language, culture, music, cuisine and people since I was in the eighth grade. It was then that I realized my goal in life: I would become a fluent Spanish speaker. This determination grew and flourished because of the wonderful teachers and educational experiences I was given in the public schools. To put it simply, I loved school! In high school, I realized that I too, would like to become an educator like those who taught me.
¡Español es mi vida, mi pasión, y mi propósito! Spanish is my life, my passion, and my purpose! Educating students in DeWitt has been a privilege and I look forward to beginning each school year with new students and new opportunities. I believe that my biggest asset is that I am in love with what I teach and that I am passionate about what I do. I live in a bilingual household and my experiences are first-hand. I enjoy imparting this on my students so that they may, too, benefit from this personal experience.
I have watched DeWitt experience growth and change in student body and in curriculum. It is exciting to offer students so many opportunities to learn in different subject areas and at different levels. Studying a foreign language is such an enlightening experience for students! I hope that your DHS student takes advantage of the courses offered in Spanish so that he/she may learn to enjoy Spanish as much as I do!
