"Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things… and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths."
-Walt Disney
Hi, and welcome to Frontier Valley Elementary. My name is Carrie Parker and I will be your child's Kindergarten teacher. I am so excited to be teaching here at Frontier Valley. This is such a new and interesting time for kids, everything is new and exciting to them. It is my hope to foster that love and curiosity of learning in your child. I believe that all children have the capacity to learn and I will make that journey of learning and discovery an exciting one.
I have taught Kindergarten for over 24 years and First grade for two years all of that time in Douglas County. I received my Bachelors Degree from Metropolitan State College of Denver in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Sociology/Psychology and in 2004 my Masters Degree from the University of Phoenix. I have discovered that the truly magical part of my job is watching the kids faces when they discover they are capable of so many wonderful and amazing things.
On a personal note, I have 4 incredible children. Emma is nineteen years old and Zackery is seventeen. We also have a dog named Marley Ray, a cat named baby , Cinnamon a hamster, Thomas the turtle, Roxy the turtle, Darla the turtle, Scooter the turtle, two small frogs, a gecko lizard, a tank full of fish, a rabbit named Crawford, a hedgehog named Hedgie and we can't forget about Blueberry and Kiwi the birds.
I am so excited to have your child in my class, I am looking forward to working with you and your child this year! It will be a year filled with fun and adventures!
