Hello!

My name is Kevin Breithart and I have had the joy of being the music teacher for the last 18 years at Summit View Elementary School. Before that I opened Arrowwood Elementary and taught there for 8 years. Before that I spent time as a long term sub in Douglas County for two years. It's been an amazing career.

I have a background in Orff and Kodaly and a Master's Degree in Elementary Music Education from Colorado State University. Not only do I teach students the basic elements of rhythm and melody with a steady, guiding hand. I help them explore their own ideas creatively and collaboratively.

Here at Summit View we offer several grade level programs including Colorado History (4th), Dancin' Through The Decades (6th), and our very own take on Peter Pan (3rd). Additionally we have a strong choir program that annually sings the National Anthem for the Colorado Rockies.

My wife and I share 4 wonderful kids and although they are officially out of the nest, they are still a big part of our lives. In my spare time I love to do jigsaw puzzles of famous album covers, read the occassional book or 12, and practice my drumset. Oh and I play drums in a local rock band named The Bobbitts.
