How to log into DCSD Student Gmail accounts!

All students enrolled in the Douglas County School District, Kindergarten through 12th grade, are issued Google Apps accounts. Google Apps for education is is a suite of productivity tools for students...Documents, Presentations, Spreadsheets, Forms, Drawing, and Gmail.

DCS Montessori students are introduced to Google Docs and Presentations in 2nd and 3rd grade.

Upper El Students use the entire Google Apps Suite. With the recent changes to remote learning...we have all of lower elementary using Google Apps & Gmail to communicate with their teachers and turn in their work.

Gmail Username - The district uses a set format to create Gmail accounts

Here is a example with my name.

    • hanniganma@s.dcsdk12.org (Last name, first initial, middle initial)

    • Some students have numbers as well for more common last names. We can help you if your student has a number.

    • Your password is Dcsd (then type your lunch id) (ie. Dcsd123456)

Gmail Login on a Computer

    • Open the Chrome Browser - Google Apps works best in the Native Chrome Browser.

    • Type Gmail.com in the address bar.

    • First Type your students entire email address.

    • Click Next

    • Type your students password. Remember the "D" is Uppercase.

    • You might need to accept the terms of use if it is your first time logging in to your account.

    • After agreeing...you will be in your students Gmail account.

How to Navigate to the other Google Apps - Drive - Docs - Classroom

When you first login you are in Gmail.

To Navigate to the different Apps in Google ... look in the top right hand corner of the screen for this image. It's the Google Apps Icon

You will see lots of different icons for a variety of Google Apps.

These are the most important ones to know.

Google Drive

Drive is where your files will be save and you teacher will share files and folders here too. Here are some tutorials on Google Drive.

Google Docs

This is where your student will create Google Documents. It the Google version of Word. Here are some tutorials on Google Docs.

Google Classroom Icon, it looks like a chalkboard.

Google Classroom is for Upper El Students. Teachers will invite your student to a classroom where they will turn in their work.

Gmail Login for Teachers

Go to Add User Google Account email or phone number and password.

If you’ve already turned on 2-Step Verification, you’ll be sent a code to your selected device.

If you don't have a Google Account to add, create one. On some Chromebooks, you can select More options Create new account.

To use your Chromebook without an account, select Browse as Guest.

If you're having trouble signing in with your Google Account, use the sign-in troubleshooter.

Once you sign in, your bookmarks, extensions, and apps will appear automatically.
