Closure / Delayed start / Early Dissmissal

Closure

In the event that Douglas County Schools are closed in the Mountain Vista Feeder Area due to inclement weather, ALL BASE PROGRAMS WILL BE CLOSED AS WELL. Up to 2 credits per school year will be given in the event of an emergency closure.

Delayed Start

In the event that Douglas County Schools are running on a delayed start in the Mountain Vista Feeder Area due to inclement weather, ALL BASE PROGRAMS WILL OPEN AT 8:00AM. This means that our regular opening time of 6:30 am will change to 8:00 am for Before School  per the BASE parent handbook. This allows our staff time to reach the school safely. Office staff members or Building Engineers are not responsible for early dropoffs during delayed start, and therefore will not answer any doorbell requests on BASE's behalf.

Early Dismissal

In the event that Douglas County Schools are doing an early dismissal in the Mountain Vista Feeder Area due to inclement weather, ALL BASE PROGRAMS WILL CLOSE AT THE SAME TIME THE SCHOOL DISMISSES STUDENTS per the BASE parent handbook.

*Snow Day / Delayed Start status can be checked by telephone after 5:00 am on the day of inclement weather. The DCSD weather hotline number is 303.387.SNOW
