2014

Year 2

After the success of the inaugural trip, more of our friends wanted to join. Sadly our friend Mike moved out of state, but there were several others who were more than willing to take his place.

This Trip: Andrew, Eric, Joe, Jim, Chris, Rodolfo, & Danny

The dart was thrown by Andrew. We had to break out the tape measure because it was so close between two towns.

Fairchild it is! Look out Fairchildinians? Fairchildites? Fairchildren?

To make room for the expanded group, Andrew rented a RV for the trip. This way we wouldn't have to find a hotel (it sleeps 7), and could have space to move around instead of being in a cramped car(s).

When you're this big, you can park it wherever you want. We should've changed the front of that thing to darttrip.com

Another added feature of the RV was we had a bathroom. However it being winter, we needed to stop at Menards to grab some RV toilet tank anti-freeze.

Menards is always good for novelties.

A good view of the spacious surroundings we enjoyed on the drive. Someone always kept Andrew company upfront on the long haul.

Our 2nd stop, gas and lunch in Arlington. We found a great place to nosh called,

Lockwood's Longshot. We bought some glasses from them,

filled our stomachs up (much cheaper than filling the RV up), and played some darts before heading to out next stop:

O'so Brewing Company in Plover.

We did the tour,

enjoyed some samples (their Night Train is even more outstanding that fresh)

tried some new beers,

and looked good in flannel.

I think that is supposed to say Tap House

On the road to the next stop.

At this point Dolphy wanted to rest up for the next leg(s) of the trip at

a place with a classy name.

Back on the road after that stop,

Chris was eager to get to Fairchild. He expressed his excitement with great fervor.

We arrived,

and found the perfect place, the Barrel Inn.

Owned by Kim and Bill

With very kind patrons and bartenders,

and excellent coozies

They had games,

And plenty of smirnoff ice.

We made some new friends,

and shared lots of stories.

We had so much fun, we even had to replenish our original resources (SHAME)

We had a fun after bar in our home on wheels (they let us keep the rig in their lot and plug in, even though they accidentally turned off the power on us)

Danny and Eric found the love, then we hit the hay.

The next morning,

We had breakfast/lunch with one of our new friends, ShortStuff

Food was amazing

And the icing didn't stop.

We stayed into the afternoon, while Dolphy got some work done.

Remember we said Kim accidentally cut the power to our van in the night? Well we killed both batteries in the RV, but everyone was more than happy to help. Thanks guys!

Once we got the batteries charged we headed home,

But on our stop for gas,

We ran into a little trouble.

After a slight delay and the help of a tow truck, we got back on the road and made it home safely (most of us anyway).
