What is Flip?
What is Flip?
Flip is a video discussion app, free from Microsoft, where curious minds connect in safe, small groups to share videos, build community, and learn together.
One of the main things going for Flipgrid is its ease of use. Teachers set up an account and create grids, which act as communities for students to work in. Within each grid the teacher creates prompts called topics, and students post video responses to the prompts and replies to each other's videos.
How do I use this in my classroom?
INTERNATIONAL DOT DAY LIVESTREAM WITH FLIP!
FLIP provides incredible events like this all year long! From elephant conservation to climbing Everest there is always something exciting happening!
Check it out at https://info.flip.com/events.html
Go to www.Flip.com and click the blue EDUCATOR SIGNUP button. Choose to use your Google email to begin your account creation. Read Flipgrid’s Getting Started blog article if you need more support.
Next, create a grid by clicking the red ADD NEW GRID button on your dashboard. Consider 1 grid/classroom as the home base of sorts. You can limit access to your grid with your students by email or using their student IDs. They do NOT need their own accounts; instead you will share a “Flip Code,” which you can personalize.
