Guidance and counseling services are designed to serve the emotional, social, academic, and career needs of students. The main goal of services is to help students reach their full academic potential.

Are services confidential?

Confidentiality is important to the counseling process. Both students and adults who work with counselors must feel that their concerns are being held in confidence. Confidentiality is not maintained when a student may harm him/herself or others or is being harmed by someone else.

STUDENTS typically use counseling for concerns such as:

· Problems with studies and living up to the expectations of parents, teachers or one’s self

· Shyness; having few or no friends

· Home/family issues

· Coping with pressures to use drugs, alcohol, or tobacco

· Bullying issues

  • PARENTS are encouraged to use counseling services when they have concerns about their child’s adjustments to school or when home problems may affect their child’s performance at school.
