Emails have been sent to all familes with the schedule and updated information about Wrestling. There are 3 dates over break for optional practice 12/26, 12/30 and 1/2/25 from 2-4pm. Pick up promptly at 4pm. Thank you!

Sign ups are in the lunchroom this week 11/13. Students write down their names and then I will look up if they have a physical or not and a sheet will be given to them during their WIN if they NEED one, will expire during season or are OKAY for the season.
Practice is M-F each day after school until 5pm ( TBD if it will go to 5:15 like last year). There are several Saturday comittments.
1/13, 1/27, 2/17 (conference) , 2/24 Regionals, 3/2 sectionals, 3/8-9 state. We have FOUR home meets at GMS and 3 away meets and a few non conference meets as well. Dec. 14th is a tri meet at Hawthorn South and Dec 15th is a special meet that Antioch invited us to attend. Grayslake High school is Wrestling against Antioch and they invited our Wrestling team to come and play against Antioch and then all the wrestlers can stay and watch the high school teams play.
If you are in basketball, please still write your name down and you can play once basketball is over. Many students are involved in band as well. Mr. Thomas is aware and we try to work around the conerts and special events.
The first practice is November 30th and more information will come at that time and a parent meeting will be the following week TBD. Thank you !

Please know that wrestling practice is canceled tonight. Please also remember that we do not have practice on Monday night due to a GMS choir concert. Wrestlers will practice again starting after school Tuesday.

Hi Everyone ! Wrestling practice will start at Grayslake Middle School on 11/30. Practice will be after school until 5:20pm each day Monday through Friday. There are home and away meets - usually lasting until 6-6:30pm and a bus will bring you back to GMS if you need to after the meet. We are still working on adding a few more meets, so the schedule is not final yet. There will be a few Saturday events as well. Wrestling is for Boys and Girls 5th - 8th grade. Wrestling will continue through the beginning of March. We have sectionals, conference, regionals and STATE!! Our Wrestling team has had a great group of athletes through the years and hope you will join to be a part of this wonderful opportunity. More information will be passed out on the first day for athletes and parents. The fee is $175.00 - this could be spread out over a few months if needed. Eligibility requirements will be a part of this sport also ( maintaining grades). Thank you. Any other questions please let us know ! Thank you !
UPDATE 12/14 : The away meet 4pm Hawthorn North : Varisty Wrestlers will wrestle, BUT ALL athletes are welcome to come and watch! Be at GMS at 2:45 pm for the bus ( Frederick bus will come over like usual, GMS students are there already, so Park and St. Gilbert you would need your ride to be GMS at 2:45 to catch the bus). IF your child is not going - they take the bus home. There will not be practice or anything held at GMS on Thursday. You can take your child home from Hawthorn North OR you can pick them up back at GMS - as the bus will come back to GMS. They will call you and let you know arrival time back to school at GMS. Hawthorn North is in Vernon Hills.
ALSO, NO PRACTICE ON MONDAY 12/19. NO PRACTICE OVER BREAK.

Coach O'Bryant is a teacher at Grayslake Middle School - so GMS students are able to see him during the day for any questions if needed. Thursday 12/15 is an away meet for Varsity only athletes . A bus will be leaving at 2.45pm from Grayslake Middle School to bus the Varsity athletes to Hawthorn North. The bus will bring the students back to GMS when the meet is over. It starts at 4pm. Students will call you when they are on the bus back to GMS so you know when to pick them up. They can borrow a cell phone from another student to call you if they don't have one.
