Welcome to the Student Services Department Webpage!


The Student Services Department of DeKalb High School provides student support for academic, personal, career, and college planning needs. This department consists of a nurse, nurse’s assistant(s), psychologists, social workers, counselors, registrar, and secretary.

 

The counselors, social workers, and psychologists provide individual and group counseling for students with a variety of social, emotional and academic needs. Activities sponsored by the counselors include: 8th grade Parent Night, College Application and Selection Night, High Selective College Night, Freshman Focus, a career unit through Driver Education, classroom presentations to juniors and seniors about post graduate planning, Junior College Night, Financial Aid Night, FAFSA Completion Night, Back on Track evenings, Senior Awards Night, Course Selection Night, college testing, and course selection for high school classes.
