January, February & March are standard rehearsals. These rehearsals will be after school until 4:45 pm. Students may be picked up promptly by a parent or take the late bus home. Not all characters will be required to attend all rehearsals listed below. We will notify students and families on a weekly basis as to which characters are needed or if a rehearsal is ALL CAST. Most weeks are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, but there is one exception in February. Please mark your calendar accordingly.
Extended rehearsals will be after school until 6 pm. They will be ALL CAST rehearsals: all characters, ensemble, stage crew, sound/light will need to be in attendance. They are MANDATORY rehearsals. Parents must pick up students. There is NO LATE BUS for 6 pm rehearsals. These rehearsals are vital to the final production process. Costumes, makeup, microphones, scenery, props, and sound and lighting are all put together during these extended rehearsals.
Wednesday, April 23 & Thursday, April 24 -- Performances for CCS & RCS during the school day - NO after school rehearsals
April 25 -- Students will remain after school for homework & dinner. 5:00 PM CALL TIME for a 7:00 PM SHOW
April 26 -- 5:00 PM CALL TIME for a 7:00 PM SHOW (Eat dinner before you come.)
April 27 -- 2:00 PM CALL TIME for a 4:00 PM SHOW (Eat lunch before you come.)
April 28 -- Cast & Crew Party -- after school until 4:45 pm
While students may not be scheduled for EVERY rehearsal, it is important that they are available for as many days as possible.
Any conflicts that are not documented on the permission slip MUST be cleared through Mr. Solway or Ms. Mellendorf. Three unexcused absences from rehearsals will constitute grounds for dismissal from the production.
If cast, students agree to maintain academic eligibility. Being cast in the musical is NOT an excuse to let grades drop, and students may be recast should this happen.
Student audition packets include information and several forms that we need as soon as possible. We’ve added those information requests and the forms to the parent packet for your convenience. They include the following:
Musical Code of Conduct & Rehearsal Commitment -- signed by the student and parent.
Known Conflicts -- completed if necessary.
T-Shirt Orders -- form and fee, if desired.
Participation Fee -- A $50 fee is assessed to support the drama program and its expenses for producing a musical.
All students will need the following: full-coverage undergarments so they can change quickly and easily. Shoes that match their costume appropriately -- generally -- all black. ALL CAST: Please have black or neutral color (light beige) pants or leggings and a long sleeve black or neutral color (light beige) t-shirt. When we're further along in the process of costuming students, we will identify more specifically what items are needed from home.
