What is a Musical?
What is a musical? A musical tells a story through songs, spoken words (dialogue), dancing (choreography), sets, props, costumes and makeup! Everyone in our musicals sings! And dances! And wears a costume! Not everyone is required to have a speaking part or solo singing part, but we all sing and dance together!
What do we do in rehearsals?
We learn the songs in the musical.
We learn how to use our voices in a healthy way to produce a high-quality sound.
We learn how the solo voices fit together with the ensemble songs.Â
We learn how to speak our lines with clear, expressive voices that can easily be understood.
We learn how to move our bodies with the music to create choreography and tell the story.
We learn to memorize everything!
We learn how to put all of the pieces together -- singing, speaking roles, choreography, costumes, makeup, lights, props & sets!
How does it work?
We will hold auditions in early December for all roles -- See the Auditions Information page for more information.
