About Mrs. Watson:
This school year starts my tenth year teaching 5th grade with Chartiers Valley. I am a proud University of Pittsburgh alumnus, where I received my undergraduate in Developmental Psychology, my Master of Arts in Teaching, and, just this summer, completed my Principal Certificate program. Pitt football is the only sport I watch - YIKES! - which makes me stick out in the athletic city of Pittsburgh!
I have been married to my husband for ten years and we are proud parents of our 6-year old daughter and 4-year old son. They keep us busy - the good kind of busy that makes us sleep well at night! I love reading books, and read lots of youth novels to keep up with my students. I am also an avid fan of Broadway musicals and "The Amazing Race" show in CBS. (Someday I will be on the show - they just don't know it yet!)
I am so excited to share this year with you and Mrs. Tenney. You will find that the decisions we make are justified by the question "What is best for our students?" We are passionate about teaching because we want to be the difference that makes your student love to learn!
About Mrs. Tenney:
Teaching is an absolute passion of mine! I am so excited to work with you and your child. It’s going to be a year full of fun, learning, and lots of adventures. I can’t wait to see what this year has in store for us! I thought you might like to know a little bit about me.
I am married to my wonderful husband, Bill. We have twin daughters, Alyssa and Chloe. They are 11 years old and will be going into sixth grade. They take up most of my free time, but some of my hobbies that I enjoy are going to Notre Dame football games, shopping, shelling, and reading.
This begins my sixteenth year of teaching fifth grade at CVIS and my seventeenth year with the district. It is my mission to instill a love for learning in my students. I teach with a passion for my subjects (Math and Science) so that my students develop a desire to become a life-long learner. I look forward to a great year together.
