Track and Field 2025-2026
Hi and welcome to Canyon Track!
On the first day of practice, all participating athletes will receive an email indicating if they are apart of the team. We request an athletic contribution of $100 per athlete, per sport played, due at the time of the email or before the first team practice. Families can make this donation online at our Canyon Webstore or by check made out to Canyon Middle School. If you’re able, additional monetary or volunteer time donations to support Canyon’s Athletic Boosters program are always welcome.
Practices:
Practices will take place after school twice a week - please check for dates. Meets are usually on Wednesdays. You must attend the practices if you expect to compete in the meets. If you have to miss practice, it is YOUR responsibility to let me know as soon as possible. Failure to do so will have consequences.

Coach Chapman’s Expectations:
Canyon Track is an experience in hard work and fun. When we work hard to achieve the highest level of performance that our skills will allow, win or lose, we become better by the experience.
Attitude and Effort: the only two (2) things you have control over - keep it positive and give your team your best effort. Any issues related to the team (whether it is during practice, during the meet, or outside of the track) must be directed to Coach Chapman.
I believe you are at your best when you show respect to your team, to your opponents, to the officials, and even the fans. Control your emotions. Absolutely NO use of foul language will be tolerated at any time.
Maintain good grades
Be ready for practice, LISTEN to all adults!
You must be coachable. Any signs of disgust, talking back, or noncooperation will result in your nonparticipation. This is a huge opportunity for you to learn and to develop your skills. Let’s get to work!!
