Performance Opportunities

Honor Bands

Honor Bands provide students the opportunity to rehearse and perform a concert with another director in one day. There are three honor band opportunities this school year.

Marion Honor Band

Saturday, January 18

Coe College Honor Band

Saturday, April 4

Young Musicians Honor Band

Saturday, April 25

Jazz Band

The jazz band meets two-three times a week. Jazz Band practice begins at 7:00 a.m. and ends at 7:45 a.m. Music students in grades 6-8 participate in the jazz band.

Scheduled concert dates include November 19, February 28 and May 5 in the Harding Middle School auditorium.

All-City Music Contest

All-City Music Contest is a festival that provides students an opportunity to play a solo with piano accompaniment for a judge and receive comments on the performance. The scheduled date is Saturday, April 4 at Jefferson High School.
