Wood fireplaces can be as efficient as wood stoves, or simply for ambiance and decoration. High-efficiency wood fireplaces can, in some cases, heat the entire house. Yet, unlike a large wood stove they can be designed to match a traditional fireplace look, complete with a mantel and hearth if desired. Some wood fireplaces also support a more modern look, similar to a gas fireplace. Fireplaces are always installed with a supported chimney system*.

Scroll down for different efficiencies:
High Efficiency - Heats like a wood stove or furnace
Mid Efficiency - Less heat
Decorative - Low efficiency
High Efficiency
Heats like a stove or furnace
Fireplaces in this category were designed with heating efficiency as the main goal. They do not lack in beauty but they are not purely decorative. Many of these fireplaces can be used to heat the entire living space. Some models can also double as a traditional open fireplace with a screen.
Mid-Efficiency
Less Heat
These fireplaces are intended for traditional decorative use, but the design makes them more efficient than a typical decorative fireplace

Lower Efficiency
These fireplaces are focused on the aesthetic charm of a fireplace and not made as an efficient heater

Note: We do not sell or build on-site masonry fireplaces or chimneys. All of our fireplaces and chimneys are factory-built "zero-clearance" style. We often duplicate the look of a masonry fireplace by building masonry materials around the zero-clearance firebox. Contact Sean Kennedy for more information about the differences between full masonry fireplaces and zero-clearance fireplaces.
