Once invited to apply, eligible students must complete an application as detailed in the by-laws. Induction of invited members will take place at the end of the year.

Acceptance into National Junior Honor Society:

The Faculty Council will evaluate completed applications on the basis of the National Junior Honor Society standards of Character, Citizenship, Leadership, Service, and Scholarship.

The Faculty Council’s decision to invite members is considered final. Appeals of invitation can be made directly to the Principal in a timely manner.

*Any student with a question regarding his or her honor roll status or report card grades should see the guidance department. NJHS does not determine Honor Roll status.*

Grade 6 is not included in National Junior Honor Society at Alan Shawn Feinstein Middle School. The NJHS Faculty Council feels that the 6th grade students need time to adjust to the middle school and learn how to be academically successful in their new settings. Students should demonstrate academic proficiency throughout their 6th grade school year and continue this success into their 7th grade year. Eligible students will be able to apply to National Junior Honor Society after two trimesters in their 7th grade year.
