Course Objectives: The course will involve understanding the philosophy and fundamental concepts of AMI systems.

Get basic concepts about intelligent system architectures in measuring.

Check the working features of metering adquisition and management systems used in AMI.

Apply a basic intelligent system to meter electricl variables.

Topical Outline:

Basic concepts in Avanced Metering Infrastructures.

Intelligent Metering Systems.

Information systems for metering management.

Progresive transformation of a distribution network to SmartGrid.

AMI Experiences.

Grading:

Laboratories, 40%

Final Project, 60%

Policy: Magistral classes and Laboratories focused in the implementation of an intelligent metering system.

Prerequisites: No one.

Scheduling: This course is offered each spring quater.
