CORE Placer Executive Director

OVERVIEW

The Executive Director is the leader of the Charter School. The Executive Director will ensure that the curriculum is implemented in order to maximize student-learning experiences. The Executive Director must report directly to the CORE Placer Board of Directors, and s/he is responsible for the orderly operation of CORE Placer and the supervision of all employees in the Charter School. The Executive Director may appoint other School Directors for their administrative team.

DUTIES

The Executive Director shall perform/oversee assigned tasks as directed by the CORE Placer Board of Directors and shall be required to undertake some or all of the tasks detailed below. These tasks may include but are not limited to the following:

    • Ensure CORE Placer enacts its mission
    • Oversee teachers and staff
    • Communicate and report to the CORE Placer Board of Directors
    • Oversee school finances and budgets to ensure financial stability
    • Participate in and develop professional development workshops as needed
    • Serve or appoint a designee to serve on any committees of CORE Placer
    • Oversee employee hiring, promotion, discipline, and/or dismissal
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal laws and help secure local grants
    • Oversee recruitment of new families and students
    • Attend meeting, complete and submit required documents as requested or required by the charter authorizer and/or CORE Placer Board of Directors and/or the County
    • Ensure that appropriate evaluation techniques are used for both students and staff
    • Establish and maintain an operational system for the school.
    • Develop effective PR
    • Oversee all required school reporting
    • Oversee yearly independent fiscal audit
    • Oversee student discipline
