Senior Community Centers
Senior Community Centers
Overview
We have seven locations across the county (listed below) offering nutritious meals and social activities to older adults up to five days a week! Up-to-date information about healthy eating, wellness and healthy habits is given out to those who get meals. Our registered dietitian can help with questions about diabetes, weight loss or gain and healthy eating in private nutrition counseling. We may provide transportation for those who need help getting to one of the meal locations.
*Senior Community Centers may close due to inclement weather, voting schedules, or other reasons from time to time. Any closures will be communicated via the Blooming Health automated messaging system and WRGB-Channel 6 (CBS) and other local news outlets with school closings.
Who is eligible?
Columbia County residents who are:
60 years old or older
This is not an income-based program. Spouses over 60 and individuals with disabilities who live with the eligible participant may also qualify for community dining, these referrals are assessed on a case by case basis.
Is there a cost?
There is no charge for the meals or to attend a Senior Community Center, but voluntary contributions are welcomed. All contributions are used locally to help serve more Columbia County residents.
How do I apply?
There is no application process, just an information sheet required at your first visit. We ask that if you are planning to dine with us, please call at least 24-hours in advance. See the phone numbers and addresses for each site below or call our Philmont Nutrition Center for more information at (518) 672 -7134.
