Welcome to the Columbia County Office for the Aging
The Columbia County Board of Supervisors and the Office for the Aging are committed to assisting our older citizens to remain in their own homes and to actively participate in family and community life.
In 1975, the Board of Supervisors created the Office for the Aging as a unit of local government to serve and be the focal point in Columbia County for matters related to aging. Through advocacy, services and planning and coordination, the Office for the Aging addresses the priority needs of our older residents.
The services described on this site are a range of community-based and home care services. While some individuals need assistance for only a short period of time, others become increasingly frail and will require aid on a regular, ongoing basis. Staff can help you select the most appropriate type of assistance to meet your individual needs and will arrange and authorize those services you decide upon.

To address the evolving needs of our older community members, Columbia County Office for the Aging is pleased to offer emergency heating assistance through a partnership with Greater Hudson Neighborhood Promise. Please be aware that we cannot guarantee that we will meet all requests, but we will do our best to accommodate each case individually. Please allow 1-2 business days for a response upon form submission. If you have any questions regarding this application, please call the Columbia County Office for the Aging at 518-828-4258.

This initiative is all about offering easy and convenient meal options for our cherished older community members. To reserve a meal, simply give us a call 24 hours in advance. Have your details ready – your name, date of birth, phone number, and the location where you’ll be picking up your meal – and we’ll take care of the rest!
