We, the team of Carli Camino, Cheryl Hansen, and Noemi Sanchez (CASHNO) at Avon Elementary believe that parents should have an opportunity to have a more active role in the academic lives of their children. By collaborating with families, the community, and the staff members at school to provide more explicit information on our new IB Program and gaining more background funds of knowledge from the parents and families we hope to further enhance student learning for continued growth. Research shows that authentic engagement can increase student achievement and growth and prevent loss of academic skills over the summer.
