Welcome to the CLSB Site!

The Colchester School District believes that teachers must continue to grow, to improve, and to achieve higher levels of competence in order to provide the best possible educational opportunities for all students.

Each teacher will document professional learning activities designed to reinforce and improve his/her knowledge and skills while providing a model of lifelong learning for all students. Although many options and activity choices for such plans of development exist, Colchester teachers will be guided by the following Core Teaching Standards for Vermont Educators:

The Colchester Local Standards Board (CLSB) will ensure rigorous standards for their profession, a connection to the school's initiatives for improving student learning and assessing students' needs, and the implementation of the Core Teaching Standards for Vermont Educators, specifically addressing the content in which they are certified.

The CLSB is responsible for relicensure approvals of all Colchester School District staff and others connected to Colchester. These standards are consistent with those defined in the Core Teaching and Leadership Standards for Vermont Educators: A Vision for Teaching, Leading and Learning (2013).
