CLSB Expectations for Teachers
Please read over this information when you are re-licensing. The Central Office and CLSB have been working together regarding keeping track of what has been offered for Professional Development on In-service Days. It will be up to your building administrator to distribute those certificates to those that attend. Here are a few guidelines:
You are responsible for seeking out the needed certificates from the presenter or your building administrator within a timely manner (year)
Not all in-services are considered NEW LEARNING
Not all in-services are considered CONTENT. They may however be used for other standards.
Staff Meetings are considered part of your job requirements and will NOT be approved for re-licensing hours unless the time is used for trainings or new learning / teaching strategies
Book Groups / Consultations / Webinars can be used for re-licensure hours. Please see the document: Approved Professional Development Activities for a complete listing of acceptable activities.
Use the PL activity tab for your write-ups and follow the template when submitting your PL’s : PL write up Template
Renewal Applications will be sent out around January, most of your PL’s should be submitted by then. Please DO NOT wait until the last minute to submit your activities.
You ONLY need to submit the hours needed for re-licensure. Any additional PL activities / hour will not be approved. Any additional professional development taken January and after of the year you are relicensing can be used towards your next relicensing period. Please do NOT submit those activities until the following year.
90 Total Hours for a 5-year license (30 of those need to be content specific)
