Required Supplies
Students need the following items with them at all times:
q a section labeled “World History” in a two-inch 3-ring binder; when you receive any document related to World History, please store it in your binder in the correct section. All items for Grade 10 World History must be kept in order of the date completed in that binder section. Please create new world history sub-sections as you deem necessary to keep organized during the school year.
q all textbooks/supplementary materials that are required for class
q book cover for World History book (all books must be covered at all times)
q access to a computer, Internet access, and a printer (for those students who do not have access to a computer, the Internet, and/or a printer at home: please be aware of the fact that Fresno and Clovis public libraries have computers, Internet access, and printers available for public use; CNEC's school library also has computers, Internet access, and printers available for student use)
q some way to back up computer work and get information from one computer to another, such as a memory key ("thumb drive") or a CD burner and CDs (even if your child has a CD burner and CDs, he/she still needs to have a memory key)
q supply of sharpened #2 pencils
q several black or blue ball-point pens
q at least two highlighters (different colors)
q compartment to keep in binder to hold pencils, etc.
q eraser
q post-it notes
q 1 folder with "pockets" to keep in binder to take notes, letters, progress reports, etc., to and from school
q large supply of straight-edged, white, preferably college-ruled binder paper (not from a spiral notebook)
q NOTE: CNEC is providing each student with an assignment book/planner to write down homework on a daily basis, so you do not need to purchase one

2) paper hole-punch
3) pencil sharpener
4) small package of tissues for your student's use
5) glue stick

In an effort to continuously generate meaningful conversation and reflection, students will read or view other supplementary materials related to the standard curriculum. All students will be required to complete standards-aligned assignments related to each supplementary material (e.g., students will read articles designed to help them think critically about what they are reading.) Reading materials and movies will only be used when the content is considered to be valuable to what students are learning in class and appropriate for students to view (nothing beyond a PG13 rating will be shown without specific written permission from the parent).
